Dear Cinda,

In addition to Holman's book, he published dozens of papers on North American snake vertebrae identification. Citations can be found in the bibliographies of his books. Following his death, the current leading expert on this subject is his former student Dr. Dennis Parmley (Georgia College & State University). A search on Google Scholar will reveal many of his papers on this subject.

An extensive comparative collection is critical for such efforts. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Barry W. Baker
