Texas Tech University and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center have collaborated to expand research in neuroscience with an emphasis on multidisciplinary projects. Two full professor positions are available and will be based at Texas Tech University and involve joint appointments with the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. A new core neuroimaging facility with a Siemens 3T Skyra MRI with functional and diffusion tensor capabilities, and support offices and laboratories is available.  The footprint includes space for 2 additional MRIs. Candidates may be in any Biological Science or Engineering Department, including but not limited to Electrical Engineering, Life Sciences, Psychology, and Human Development. Support from other core facilities is also available in biotechnology, genomics and high performance computing. Both of these positions are intended to add critical mass to our new neuroimaging facility, and successful applicants will be expected to work with current faculty to grow the Institute. We are particularly interested in building on our strengths in neural and behavioral biology, including but not limited to drug and alcohol addiction, autism, aging, the neural correlates of learning, and brain development.  Other research areas of functional imaging outside of neuroscience may also be considered.

Applicants will be expected to bring in significant competitive grant funding and have a clear record of scholarship, research productivity, team building, outreach, and teaching.  Multidisciplinary research across academic departments/colleges is encouraged. Graduate advising and some teaching is expected in the areas of interest to the applicant.  Service to the Institution and the profession are important aspects of the position. Rank of academic appointment is open, but preference will be given to individuals who qualify for full professor or are already at this rank.
