The UCSF Memory and Aging Center (MAC), in the Department of Neurology, is looking for a candidate interested in post-doctoral fellowship training in multimodal imaging and neurodegenerative disease, with an emphasis on atypical neurodegenerative syndromes and longitudinal data analysis. Appropriate candidates would include individuals completing a PhD in bioengineering, neuropsychology or cognitive neuroscience that focused on imaging methods, or MDs with similar skills and interests. The work focuses primarily on structural and functional brain imaging (including T1-weighted and ASL-perfusion MRI and DTI, and resting PET imaging). The MAC is a multidisciplinary group that provides clinical services and has an extensive research program on aging and neurodegenerative disease, and is a world leader in research on frontotemporal dementia. MAC investigators direct many projects looking at the clinical, imaging, genetic and pathological features of aging and typical and atypical neurodegenerative syndromes. The context for this fellowship would be a large multi-site, multimodal longitudinal imaging study of frontotemporal dementia, and would also give broad exposure to imaging in a variety of clinical contexts including Alzheimer’s disease and mild cognitive impairment, progressive supranuclear palsy, corticobasal degeneration and other disorders. Interested candidates should contact Howard Rosen ([log in to unmask]) and Marissa Urbano ([log in to unmask]). UCSF seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.
