The Stage 3 debate to consider the Public Records (Scotland) Bill will be held in the Scottish Parliament tomorrow, Wednesday 16th March. This is the final stage in the lengthy Bill process which started back in December 2009.

The debate is due to commence at 10.55am. The first part will discuss a small number of minor Government amendments (5 in total) lodged to tidy up the language of the Bill and update the schedule of authorities. No non-government amendments have been lodged. Discussion of amendments will be followed by the main debate which opens with a statement by our minister Fiona Hyslop.

Final voting on the Bill will take place at around 6.45pm.

To view up to date documentation on the Bill (including a reprint of the Bill as amended at Stage 2 and a list of amendments selected for Stage 3) see http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/s3/bills/56-PublicRecords/index.htm.
