We discussed a OER delicious type thing amongst the PORSCHE team as well and I've been looking into building a skeleton app for this in Rails (limited skills permitting) - it would be good to hear whether others think there's some traction to this idea or would like to collaborate on this. Might save some of the link retweeting dilemmas mentioned..?

This fits in with the OER delicious idea?

Or perhaps something like it?

Ah, I see! I don't mention any aggregators other than in my opening para explaining my interest in aggregators! You know I know about xpert.

It's not a blog post about the models or usage of particular aggregators, it's about the models behind them. I'd be very interested to see how any aggregator would describe itself in the terms I suggested in the post. I'm also keen to hear of established ways of describing what aggregators do.

Cheers

Xpert doesn't get a mention, and we sort of are *the* aggregator I'd have thought.

We also support secondary aggregation via API calls across existing collections (searching one feed), and user-defined collections (searching multiple feeds).

And I think 2 of the thematic projects (Oxford and Loughborough) are both using Xpert powered systems as part of their sites?

Xpert is definitely an aggregator!
Why do you ask that?

Is Xpert not an aggregator - or is this the aggregation as curation argument again?

Hi

As a contribution to the OER Hackday happening this week, I share my current thoughts on OER and aggregation
