AFB, NM

The AFRL Space Chemistry/2 Laboratory is seeking an experimental
physical chemist to conduct laboratory research on the spectroscopy of
ionic liquids for space propulsion applications. We are seeking a highly
motivated individual with experience in laser spectroscopy, molecular
beams, mass spectrometry, and computer interfacing. Familiarity with
computational chemistry is also highly desirable.

The lab is currently located at Hanscom AFB, outside of Boston, MA, but
will be moving to Albuquerque, NM, this summer. The position will be
available immediately upon completion of the move.

Applicants must be US citizens. For a prospective or recent (past five
years) PhD, the preference is to hire into a National Research Council
(NRC) Postdoctoral Associateship. See http://bit.ly/dXqw4y for a
description of the NRC programs at AFRL, including stipend, benefits,
and policies. The submission package includes a modest-length proposal
written in consultation with lab personnel, together with supporting
documentation; the next proposal due date is May 1, with subsequent
deadlines every 3 months. Interested candidates should contact Dr.
Jaime Stearns at [log in to unmask]
