medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I hope colleagues (and George) will forgive me for
asking for help with a local parish query. Our 100-year-old church has 12
shields distributed around with different symbols on each. We have managed
to identify ten but are still unsure of two. They have (1) 3 vertical
fierce-looking knives and (2) 3 plain yellow/gold discs in a triangular shape,
two at the top, one at the bottom. I have images that I could send to
anyone off-list.
Thank you in advance for help - you can tell I am
not good at things heraldic!
