medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture Dear Maddy,
There are some great images of dead bodies being stripped of their armour at the Battle of Hastings in the bottom border of the Bayeux Tapestry (so-called).
Cheers,
Jim

A bizarre and even gruesome request - a student of mine is looking for literature on treatment of dead bodies on medieval battlefields - burial, embalming of leaders, but also robbing of bodies and reuse of bones and teeth (!)
Serves me right, really, for running a Special Subject on Art, Death and Memory.
