This conference brings together researchers, archivists, filmmakers, producers, programmers and musicians to explore current developments in researching and interpreting the history of women's activity in and around cinema in different parts of the world, from cinema’s beginnings to now.  

 We have programmed 70 papers, 35 from UK, 35 from overseas including: Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United States of America.

The Conference starts at 9.00 am Wednesday 13 April and ends 5.30 pm Friday 15 April.

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education.
