Dear List Member – I wrote to the list a few weeks ago (see below) asking if anyone would take over ownership and moderation. There have been no volunteers to date, so if I don’t have someone to hand over to by the end of March I will have no option but to close the list.
It would be possible to remove the requirement to moderate messages sent to the list and thereby eliminate the need to scan and approve the messages sent, (although would mean that it was open to spamming and misuse) but the list still must have an owner.

Dear Lit-Lang-Culture-Events list member – I am writing to ask if there is anyone out there who might take over management of this list? My post at the English Subject Centre is coming to an end in July, and I am unsure whether future circumstances will enable me to continue to manage the list. Lit-Lang-Culture-Events is a popular and well-used list, and I would prefer to know it was in ‘safe-hands’ and be able to hand over in an orderly fashion by April.
Managing the list is not time consuming. You just need to be someone who is checking email most days, and prepared to scan messages (there are one or two each day) to make sure they fall within the remit of the list.
