We get treated very well here – bins emptied daily – hovered once, possibly twice a week – the duster goes around every now and then – tables are wiped down.
The only thing that we do here is clean the keyboards and mice as we decided to do that following advice from infection control.
I would imagine that there must be a standard that the hospital cleaners have to adhere to – surely they don’t just hoover and empty bins up on the wards!

Subject: Library cleanliness
Good morning,
With a view to the current bigger picture surrounding libraries I am aware that my question may sound trite, but I would appreciate some information.
There has been an ongoing issue with the standard of cleaning in the library here (actual library space not library office) and yesterday someone informed me that bar Hoovering and emptying the bins (on a
weekly basis) any other cleaning/dusting duties in the actual library should be done by library staff.
I would be grateful for any information regarding library cleaning- does your library get cleaned? If so, by whom and what exactly gets cleaned and how often?
I have worked out that to clean the desks/study booths/tops of shelves and relevant trunking etc would take me about 1 ½ hours.
Thanks in advance,
Leanne (currently not wearing a tabard)
