The next version of EPrints (v3.3, available in the summer) will have some CRIS-type capabilities, allowing a repository to handle information about projects and funding organisations, and to exchange it with other information systems. It would be great if we could provide a core set of information about institutions and major funding organisations in the UK, that repository managers could use in conjunction with their publication and project data.
