Hi Virgina
Well no.
But then we hardly have anything resembling countryside.
Presumably cities are free of such treasures!

Morning all,
Does anyone else, like me, have a very dusty file of
"Countryside Treasures" ? This is a series of lists of
"those natural or man-made features of the countryside which are of public
interest by reason of their aesthetic, archaeological, historic, scenic,
scientific, sociological or traditional interest attaching therto, and whose deterioration
or destruction would represent a serious loss to our heritage". The
project started in 1968, with parish councils and Women's Institutes providing
the data.
What goes around comes around.
