Thinking Ahead & Staying Afloat - Book now to save up to £160!
"The best networking event of the year!"

Details of GEM's 2011 conference are now available: www.gem.org.uk/cpd/conf/conference.html<http://www.gem.org.uk/cpd/conf/conference.html>

The focus of the conference is on how heritage educators and senior managers responsible for education can share and develop ideas, strategies and practices to help them, and the organisations they work for, to thrive on limited resources in a changed climate.

Keynote speakers:

· Vanessa Trevelyan, president of the Museums Association, director Norfolk Museums/ Renaissance Hub

· Tony Butler, Museum of East Anglian Life, Stowmarket, director and pioneer of social enterprise

· Carole Souter, chief executive, Heritage Lottery Fund

· Prof Terry Haydn, University of East Anglia

· Prof Tom Schuller, director, Longview

GEM's 2011 conference is both practical and extremely relevant for everyone managing and delivering learning across the heritage sector. It offers something to engage and inspire heritage education professionals from career-entry to management level, and there are many opportunities to contribute.

There is a call for proposals to run breakout and workshop sessions relevant to the conference theme. See the GEM website for details - the deadline for submission of proposals is the end of March.

Book now for Thinking Ahead & Staying Afloat - GEM's 2011 conference - and save up to £160. You can attend the whole 3-day conference for just £373 - this includes fees, meals and accommodation in a 4* hotel.

This year the conference is bigger and better, and costs no more than last year - and we are staying at a 4* country hotel. You can bring your partner too - they will probably enjoy the heated indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, gym, spa, 18 hole golf course, etc.

Details of the pre-conference workshop, how to propose a member's presentation and how to book a stand in the networking/trade fair will follow in a week or so.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

John
