We purchased two Defiant 3 Security Cabinets from GLS Educational supplies at a cost of £1000 each but be aware of the weight re delivery if up stairs and your flooring in the office as they are like bank safes – very heavy!

Where in the long and distant past we have used filing cabinets, then you need to be able to bolt them to the floor/wall and you need a secure bolt that is connected from the bottom to the top of the cabinet which can be padlocked shut (so drawers cannot be forced open).

We purchased some new lockable cabinets last year which I asked AQA to ok. I can’t remember where they are from! But when I get back to the office I will have a look. They still had to be bolted to the wall, even on the 2^nd floor!

Hi Everyone

At our recent JCQ inspection it was suggested that we replace our rather ‘unsecure’ filing cabinets in the secure room.

At the moment we have normal 4 drawer filing cabinets without any additional security features, and I was wondering if any centres have added any additional security to basic filing cabinets that the JCQ inspector has been happy with?

Alternatively does anyone know where we can purchase cabinets with the additional security which are reasonably priced?
