Southampton Health Technology Assessments Centre (SHTAC) (www.southampton.ac.uk/shtac), within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton, UK, is an NIHR centre of excellence for health technology assessment and health services research with an influential role in determining national health policy through its research programme. SHTAC has expertise in health economics/modelling, evidence synthesis, information science and epidemiology. As part of an expanding research programme, SHTAC is looking to strengthen its multi-disciplinary research team with these new posts. We are looking for a person to join a cohesive research team working on economic evaluations and evidence synthesis/primary research to address major policy questions concerning the use of drugs, devices, procedures, diagnostics, public health programmes and other health interventions. You will also work with colleagues on a programme of research on methodological developments related to health technology assessment.
Research Fellow in Evidence Synthesis
If you have the relevant background and are enthusiastic
about developing your career, this is an opportunity to join a growing team developing
an influential research programme. We would expect a first or second class
degree, a master's level or PhD qualification in a relevant discipline
(operational research/statistics/health economics) and/or relevant research
experience. Opportunities for further training and postgraduate study are
encouraged and supported.
Appointment will be made on one of the following scales: Research Fellow - £27,428 - £33,734
and the Senior Research Fellow- £34,745-£44,016 according to experience. The
appointment will be until March 2013 in the first instance with good prospects
for further extension.
