Hello,

I am a disabled man with mild learning difficulties who has been teaching supporting staff and carers about the values surrounding disability for a number of years.

I am looking for someone to support me with reading books dealing with issues relating to disability (history, models and legislation), taking notes and translating them into an accessible format (bliss symbolic). My goal is to further my knowledge and understanding of such issues in the hope of increasing my work opportunities, help break down walls and change how disabled people are perceived in society

This is a great opportunity for someone who has a similar interest and wishes to gain experience working with disabled people. I looking for a volunteer who is patient and will take time to listen to me, is computer literate and can commit to this project for a couple of hours a week over a few months.

If you are interested in taking part in this project please contact me by email.

Thank you

DB
