Teaching Visually -

How to use archives to aid learning

A workshop for Deaf Teachers and teaching staff involved in Deaf education

Archives look after maps, photographs and documents; some have records dating back 1,000 years.

This workshop will use many practical examples to show how historical records - especially those with a strong visual impact - can enhance teaching in primary and secondary phases. The main focus will be on history and local studies, but there will be many imaginative applications to the teaching of art, literacy, and Deaf heritage

This workshop will take place at the Devon Record Office in Exeter, which looks after the Deaf Heritage Archive for Devon.
