Please pass it on to all your contacts and implore folks to take part
and turn up on the day. Please pass me a note of the most severe

From Theresa Breslin

Attached is the Protest Statement to be handed into the Scottish
Parliament on Saturday 5th Feb at 11a.m.

Please let me know if you want your name added to the 'Protesters list'
at the end of the statement.

Please let me know if you want your name added to the 'PRESENT ON THE
DAY and available for interview list' at the end of the statement and if
so please send me a very short one sentence biog.

Please let me know if you'll be there on the day but would rather not be
interviewed.

For those attending - please bring along your favourite book ( if it's
one you've written it that's fine)

The idea would be to read out the Protest Statement, then a few people
say what libraries meant to them, some readings, and then hand in the
Protest Statement. The whole thing should last approx 30mins.

Please note that anyone can be there and it would be really great to
have children and loads of librarians, teachers, library users, members
of the public etc etc . It's the writers and illustrators who are
organising the protest, but really anyone is welcome to take part and
send me their name to be put on - and it would be great to have a biog
from a young kid e.g." I am Sam aged 6 The mobile library came down my
street and now it doesn't so I don't get books to read" etc .

I'd like to ask everyone who receives this email to forward it on and
use whatever means possible to publicise it.

Best wishes
Theresa Breslin
