Subject: Re: Help with Planning Files
Hi Jenny, I have been looking at the arrangement and retention of Planning files too, for a digitisation project. I've found the disposal schedule from New South Wales State Records (Australia) quite helpful, in looking at different types of documentation and indicative retention guidance. Hi everyone, I’m about to start some records management work with our Planning Department and I was wondering whether anyone could shed some light on what should constitute a Planning file? Not surprisingly, the Planning Officers state that they have to keep every document they create / receive in relation to a planning application and that such documents should be kept indefinitely. Can anyone offer some advice on this matter please? As always, your responses are much appreciated.
