People and Wildlife Project (Ebbw Fawr)
Gwent Wildlife Trust, in partnership with EVAD, BTCV, Welsh Assembly Government and Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council, has secured funding for a three year project based in Blaenau Gwent. The People and Wildlife Project aims to engage people in discovering and taking action for their local environment and the wildlife that inhabits it. Much of the work will be based at the inspirational Environmental Resource Centre (ERC) opened in May 2010 – the first building to be completed in the redevelopment of the former steelworks in Ebbw Vale. We are looking for two new members of staff to support the People and Wildlife Project Leader in the delivery of this exciting project over the next three years. All posts involve working closely with local communities as well as promoting local wildlife and environmental issues.
Administration Officer, £14,602 pro rata (part-time 22 ½ hours per week)
This is an important role supporting the effective management of the ERC and People and Wildlife Project. As the first point of contact with the centre, the role is important in presenting a friendly and professional service.
Community Education Officer, £19, 234 pro rata (part-time 22 ½ hours per week)
The ERC hosts a varied learning and events programme and this role is crucial in delivering that programme in an effective and engaging manner.
For an informal discussion about any of these roles or to request an application pack, please contact Veronika Brannovic on 01495 307525. Application packs are also available to download from www.gwentwildlife.org and are available in Welsh on request.
Closing date for applications is Wednesday 16th February 2011. Interviews will be held during the week beginning 7th March at the Environmental Resource Centre in Ebbw Vale. As all posts involve working with children and vulnerable adults, they will be subject to an Enhanced CRB disclosure.
