CILIP Executive Briefing - RDA: Resource Description and Access - What next for RDA?

Tuesday 12 April 2011, CILIP, London
Wednesday 25 May 2011, Radisson Edwardian, Manchester

Since the launch of RDA in June 2010, library managers and cataloguing team leaders have been watching the news for information on implementation of the new standard. The Library of Congress has been leading trials of RDA alongside current workflows for Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2), and with the report of the results imminent, a highlight of this year's Briefings is a unique personal update by its Director for Acquisitions and Bibliographic Access, Beacher Wiggins.
Following last year's two sell-out RDA Executive Briefings, CILIP is organising follow-up events in London and Manchester to provide the inside track on progress that is being made, and considering what's next for RDA.
Event highlights include:

 * Keynote presentation from Beacher Wiggins, Library of Congress
 * UK perspective from Alan Danskin, The British Library
 * Terry Willan from LMS Supplier Talis explores the implications for implementing RDA in the library system
 * Panel discussion sessions with all speakers

Last year's two RDA briefings sold out with almost 180 attendees and were rated 93% Good to Excellent. This year's events will provide equally valuable information and advice, and immediate booking is strongly advised.
