Professor Sir Michael Marmot said today that a simple, inexpensive way to improve children's life expectations is to read with them regularly. I have written to the Marmot Review team to suggest that public libraries have a key part to play. We need to raise awareness that book sharing should start at birth, and you do not need to be able to read to enjoy sharing a book. Toni
