Dear all,

I've got a couple of announcements to make:

Firstly, there is a new HPR newsletter available on the English Heritage website: http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/content/imported-docs/f-j/hpr-newsletter-winter-2010-11.pdf

Secondly, today sees the launch of our consultation on the draft Good Practice Guide for Local Listing. It is another milestone in the continuing Heritage Protection Reform programme and supports the policies and principles of PPS5 dealing with the identification and management of local heritage assets using local lists. We have worked very closely with the sector through all stages in the production of this draft guidance document which pulls together good practice on local lists that currently operate across England. It provides non-statutory advice to local authorities and members of the community with an interest in developing a new list, or making improvements to an existing list. The Guide is now available on our website at:
http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/caring/listing/local/local-designations/local-list/

A form for responses is provided and the closing date for comments on the Guide is Friday 13th May 2011.

Best wishes
