February 2011

Required: Creative Designer for new Postal Museum and Archive

The British Postal Museum & Archive (BPMA) is the leading national resource for all aspects of British Postal heritage. It cares for the visual, physical and written records of 400 years of innovation and service illuminating the fascinating story of British postal communications.

We are seeking Creative Designers for an ambitious £17m project to build a combined Museum and Archive in Swindon, Wiltshire. The chosen firm will work closely with us and our appointed Architects, Feilden Clegg Bradley (FCB) Studios to plan, design, develop and deliver our permanent exhibition space and related public spaces.

We wish to create a family-friendly attraction that will result in visitors discovering, exploring, engaging with, and ultimately valuing Britain's rich and varied postal heritage.

The chosen firm will be an integral part of the project from RIBA Stage C through to completion, particularly in the following areas:

*       Overall master planning (led by FCB Studios);
*       Front-end and ongoing audience development work;
*       Interpretation planning;
* Exhibition design, production and installation.

Firms wishing to submit an Expression of Interest to undertake this work should visit the Jobs section of the BPMA website for full instructions on how to do so: http://postalheritage.org.uk/aboutus/jobs/
