Trivial, but I couldn't resist this...
The blogger StephenBD specialises in representation of time in graphics. Lots of interesting material here, but one that caught my eye is where Stephen reviews the recently launched Google tool which does word counts from the vast corpus of Google digitised books, allowing users to track the popularity of words over time. To check an example of a word that has not changed much in meaning, he looked at 'fish', from 1700 to 2000 only to see that it hardly occurs before 1800, then dramatically rises in frequency.
