Dear colleagues,
for those of you interested in Sound Recordings I thought I would share
recordings that I took of the Oil Sands Industrial site (in Northern
Alberta, Canada) with you.
The sounds are uploaded on my blog -

and are presented in correspondence with a series of photographs taken by
Andriko Lozowy (a fellow social researcher completing his PhD at the
University of Alberta).
The recordings are presented without description (apart from the photos)
and I would invite feedback from you as to whether it would useful to give
an explanation of what you are hearing. I will be going up to the area
again at the end of the month to make more recordings and hope these will
become part of a larger project mapping the acoustic ecologies of this
mega scale industrial site.
