Some initial details of Hackney Action for ESOL’s Save ESOL Day event are below. A printable flyer and further information will be circulated soon.

If you are in or near Hackney and can come and support the event, and/or can publicise it to your learners, that would be great.

Hackney Action for ESOL

SAVE ESOL DAY

Sunday 13th March 2011

The government is planning big cuts to the provision of ESOL (English classes for migrants). This will affect many people in Hackney. The Save ESOL Day is a chance for ESOL students, teachers and members of the local community to show their support for free ESOL and say no to the cuts.

12-2pm, London Fields, Hackney (north side, near the children’s play area)

Picnic, face painting, banner making, balloons, storytelling, and the chance to record your story - why is ESOL important to you?

At 2pm we will be marching to Hackney Town Hall.

All welcome! Bring your children!
