New Media and the Body (Ref: MED1) Supervisor: Dr James Ash New Media is a rapidly evolving field of scholarship, but relatively little work has looked at how bodies are implicated in and shaped by new media technologies. This project would allow the successful candidate to develop PhD research around the relationship between technology and the body through an examination of a particular new media technology of the candidates choosing. Possible technologies could include, but are not limited to, videogames, mobile phones or gestural interfaces for example.
