We are looking for a protein crystallographer to cover a colleague’s 3 months leave of absence. A subsequent extension is not excluded. This position is available for a * Research Scientist, PhD/Diploma in Protein Biochemistry or related Life Sciences* starting immediately. The candidate will have project responsibility for all steps from generation of diffraction grade crystals from crystal grade protein through data collection and processing. The position requires hands on work as well as an up to date knowledge of modern crystallization techniques and standard crystallographic software. We are looking for a colleague with the technical skills to help with the running, as well as occasional maintenance of protein crystallization robotics and x-ray generator. Linux scripting and programming skills are an asset, as would be an understanding of databases. Working within multidisciplinary project teams your task will mainly be the crystallization of drug target proteins and their complexes with compounds. The successful candidate should be highly organized and able to simultaneously handle multiple projects, understand the importance of thorough documentation, and will be a strong team player actively supporting an in depth interaction with the other R&D departments.
