If you have learning Objects, there is search facility that allow students to do search over a course site or system wide.

Thanks to all.

I will investigate the content system search, but was really more looking for something that students could access from within their modules.

Cheers

Andy

Even if you don't license the content system, you get a search in the bundled content collection for new uploaded items that have been pushed into that area. Just remember to setup a nightly cron for the full text re-index on one app node.

Its buggy as hell in our experience but that could be just us!

Andrew,

Have you licensed the Content System?
It has this sort of search built in. As content in 9.1 now sits in the content system not the file system, searching just got a lot better! Not sure if this is exposed for people who just have the Learning System.

Malcolm.

Subject: Content Search in BB9.1

Hi,

We are in the process of migrating to BB9.1.

We are being asked by the academic community if there is functionality for students to search for a piece of content within a course.
Due to the structure of some of our courses, there can be a huge amount of content within one course, and whichever way we structure it, students have difficulty locating the content they need.

Is anybody aware of anything within BB9.1 or and associated building blocks / third party products that would give us this functionality.

We never managed to get Search LX working properly in BB 8.0, and wondered if this may solve the problem in 9.1.

Many Thanks

Andy Raistrick
