Your teachers are talking about % not points (70% is Pass, 80% Merit, 90% Distinction) Taking the grade boundaries they gave you we get D*D*D* 1590 88.33% DD*D* 1560 86.67% DDD* 1530 85.00% DDD 1500 83.33% DDM 1460 81.11% DMM 1420 78.89% MMM 1380 76.67% MMP 1340 74.44% MPP 1300 72.22% PPP 1260 70.00% Fail - anything under 69.99% Design a schema for your final grade around this (so D*D*D* = 100% to 88.33%, DD*D* = 88.32 to 86.67% etc).
