How Green are your Archives?
Real issues and options for sustainability

What are the effects of budget cuts and environmental targets on archive buildings and their paper-based collections?
What are the current trends and thinking on sustainable archives, and the impacts on those responsible for long-term collections care and those using archives for work or leisure?

Conservation, preservation and collections management specialist Jonathan Rhys-Lewis will introduce and demystify the complexities of these issues, key to archives today, and discuss a range of more sustainable approaches to preserving archives for future generations.

This timely seminar will be viewed within the context of change and the ongoing revision of the existing British Standard on storing and exhibiting archival documents (BS 5454: 2000), and Jonathan has also agreed to attempt a view of the future...
