Free Event – Transforming Heritage – Project Planning for an HLF Heritage Grant

Wednesday 23rd March 2011

Valence House, Dagenham, London

This event is for museums, libraries and archives considering an application to HLF’s Heritage Grants programme (awards over £50,000).  The day will include practical examples of successful projects, including Valence House, and Havering Museum, both of which opened in 2010.  Case studies from smaller capital or activity projects which have had a transformational effect for their organisations will also be highlighted within the programme.  Delegates will have a chance to meet successful grantees and gain a greater understanding of the application process and development support for museums and archives.

Aims:

-       To encourage London museums and archives to consider HLF’s Heritage Grants programme (awards over £50,000)

-       To show examples of successful projects through case studies and a chance to meet grantees

-       Highlight manageable grants – a complete overhaul may not be the best solution, and smaller projects can still achieve great results

-       Give greater understanding of HLF’s priorities, the Heritage Grant application process and development support available.
