In response to the Christchurch earthquake a seminar, Understanding Earthquakes, has been organised in University College London to raise funds for those affected. The details are as follows: Title: Understanding Earthquakes Date: Wednesday 2nd March at 5 - 6pm Place: Wilkins Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre Brief: A panel of experts from across UCL and Imperial will talk about the current knowledge of earthquake activity including probabilistic seismic hazard, damage estimation and reconstruction. It promises to be a highly informative seminar with particular resonance to the events in Christchurch. Entry is by donation with all proceeds going to the British Red Cross NZ Earthquake Appeal. It promises to be a very interesting event for a good cause.
