My description in the catalogue record is as follows: "unidentified item consisting of a handle made from a slim wooden dowel, at the end of which is a star shaped piece of wood. The handle has 'Rinaldo's Restaurant, Newcastle-on-Tyne' and 'The Mosser déposé Paris' printed on it. The star shaped piece has an orange and gold coloured paper wrapper around it. Possibly for stirring a drink (?). Mid to late 20th century" What do people think? Is it for stirring a drink, or am I barking up the wrong tree? It is one of three identical items that were found in a box in one of the stores, with no associated information. The length is 160 mm and the width of the head is 30 mm Thanks Adam Adam Bell Assistant Keeper History Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums South Shields Museum & Art Gallery Ocean Road South Shields NE33 2JA Tel: +44(0)191 456 8740 Fax: +44(0)191 456 7850 Email: [log in to unmask] R ead Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums' new blog, and get involved with our social media, games and digital projects here - http://www.twmuseums.org.uk/engage/ Leader of the North East Regional Museums Hub Our mission is to help people determine their place in the world and define their identities, so enhancing their self-respect and respect for others.
