At each event, senior figures from the Academy of Social Sciences will make presentations to outline both the Campaign for Social Science (CfSS) and the associated Development Appeal (www.campaignforsocialscience.org.uk) The first 3 roadshows are: 1. Thursday 3rd February 2011 – North East Region 12:30pm – 2pm, to include light refreshments Venue: Northumbria University - The Gallery, Squires Building, Sandyford Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8ST Local Hosts: Professor Peter Golding AcSS, PVC and Professor Irene Hardill AcSS, Membership Secretary, Academy of Social Sciences (There is also a public seminar at 5pm by Professor Golding: On Ignorance: some sociological musing on public knowledge and the media in a modern democracy - to which all are also invited.) 2. Tuesday 8th February 2011 – North West Region (invitation letter attached) 12:30pm – 2pm, to include light refreshments Venue: University of Liverpool – The Hub, Foresight Centre, 1 Brownlow Street, Liverpool, L69 3GL Local Host: Professor Sir Howard Newby AcSS, Vice Chancellor and President of the Academy of Social Sciences 3.
