The South African Road Federation (SARF), CSIR and Wits University are pleased to host a four-day event focused on the dynamics of trucks. The event will run from 18 to 21 April 2011 at Glenburn Lodge (www.glenburn.co.za) near Johannesburg. The event will include three of the leading researchers in heavy vehicle dynamics: Chris Winkler, Tom Gillespie, and Steve Karamihas.
The event will include the definitive UMTRI course on heavy truck dynamics, hands-on computer exercises and an update on the performance-based standards (PBS) initiative in South Africa. This event is intended for persons engaged in technical activities such as truck design, operating and design of heavy mining vehicles, analysis of dynamic wheel loads on roads, truck equipment selection, fleet safety operations, accident reconstruction, development of truck safety standards and highway/truck interactions.
The course fee is R 13 000 (approx. US$ 1 900) with a R 1 000 discount for registration before 01 February.
