Just a reminder about the National Science & Engineering Week Event Awards 2011 – a chance to get your event recognised as one of the best taking place during NSEW. Self-nominations will remain open until 4th February. Don’t forget… if you are planning an event for the Week, please register it on the online programme – www.nsew.org.uk.

NSEW Event Awards 2011:
The National Science & Engineering Week Event Awards 2011 are now open for self-nomination.

Supported by EngineeringUK, these awards have been set-up to recognise originality and quality in the events that take place during NSEW. To apply for an event award your nomination must be received by February 4th 2011. All events are welcome for nomination under the following 5 categories:

- Best Science Event
- Best Engineering Event
- Best Primary School Event
- Best Secondary School Event
- Outstanding Contribution Award.

Winning events promote their topics in innovative and engaging ways with appropriate evaluation. They might be in an unusual location, be a school-wide cross curricular celebration or engage different multiple audiences within one community. 

NSEW Event Award events also provide excellent case-studies for anyone who is planning their own celebration during NSEW, these can be downloaded from the website.
Outstanding Contribution Award:
The NSEW Outstanding Contribution Award is to individual organisers, or organisations, who have been organising events for NSEW for a number of years, even since the days when NSEW was known as SET7!

NSEW would not be the growing success that it is without our long-standing organisers and we would like to recognise the dedication and effort of key individuals and organisations who have made this possible.
Cash Prizes
The cash prizes to winning and runner-up organisations are as follows:

Event Award Winners: £600
Event Award Runners-up: £200
Outstanding Contribution Award Winner: £800 (no runner up prize in this category).
These prizes will be intended to fund similar science and engineering activities in the future.
