It offers "Help with your travel cost". It also states "All volunteers are required to have a background check through the Criminal Records Bureau." My guess is that many people here have experience of CRB checks? Do they cost money? If so, do applicants for this one have to pay for their own check? On internships in general, recent discussion in another place suggests that anyone hiring interns is legally required to pay at least the minimum wage. Then again, it seems that many law firms don't bother to follow the law, so that it probably a toothless threat. MK -----Original Message----- From: psci-com: on public engagement with science [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Chris Dunford Sent: 24 January 2011 15:46 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: [PSCI-COM] Sustainability Internships in At-Bristol The At-Bristol Science Centre is currently advertising internships in the area of sustainability. At-Bristol has good credentials in sustainability and benefits from cutting-edge low-energy building systems and technologies. We are currently on a drive to improve our sustainability as an organisation even further through a whole range of smaller measures as well as some exciting large scale projects and to ultimately communicate these to the public and engage them with the issues involved. As part of this mission we are offering internships for people with a knowledge of, and interest in, sustainability in business and/or energy technologies. Our hope is that the internship with be mutually beneficial, with At-Bristol undertaking projects with the latest thinking and practice in sustainability and the intern gaining valuable experience of the issues involved in applying sustainability to a real organisation in a science centre environment. The internship is designed to be flexible to accommodate the intern. We hope that the internship may be of interest to members of this group or that members may work in institutions where they can pass this advert on to those for whom it is relevant. Details of the internship projects and how to apply can be found on our website: www.at-bristol.org.uk/volunteer.html#Internships Chris Dunford Sustainability Officer At-Bristol | Anchor Road | Bristol | BS1 5DB Direct: 0117 9157 184 Information/Bookings: 0845 345 1235 Find out more about At-Bristol, including what's on, venue hire, school visits and visitor reviews: www.at-bristol.org.uk Twitter: @atbristol At-Bristol.
