Journal Submission Masterclass with an Editor from Sociology
18th February 2011 (Friday) 1pm-4:30pm
British Sociological Association Meeting Room, Imperial Wharf, London

British Sociological Association’s flagship journal Sociology and the BSA Postgraduate Forum are co-organizing a half-day masterclass on journal submission. Professor Sally Power, Joint Editor of Sociology, will speak about preparing manuscripts for submission to academic journals. There is also an invaluable chance to understand the process of peer review by looking at some referee reports.

It is expected that there will be a lot of interest in the workshop. Please make your booking as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, as places are very limited.

About the Speaker: Sally Power is a Professorial Fellow at the Cardiff School of Social Sciences with extensive experience of research on the sociology of education and education policy. Her research interests include: Sociology of education, Education and social class, Sociology of education policy and Sociology of the curriculum. She is currently Joint Editor of Sociology.

About BSA PG Forum: The Postgraduate Forum is an informal network of BSA members currently conducting postgraduate research in sociology. There are more than 600 members. The Forum is organised by a team of conveners whose role is to make sure student members of the BSA are kept up to date with matters of specific interest to them. Further the conveners attempt to facilitate contact between student members and members of the BSA Council.

It costs £10 for BSA members and £25 for non-BSA members to attend this workshop. To book a place, please visit: http://www.britsoc.co.uk/events/ForthcomingEvents.htm
