The John Rylands Library, University of the Manchester, is currently seeking to recruit a Customer Service and Building Manager.

 

The John Rylands Library (JRL) houses the Special Collections Division of The John Rylands University Library at the University of Manchester. The JRL has world-renowned collections of printed books, manuscripts and archives and in addition to its continuing importance as a research library, the JRL is developing its role as a major cultural attraction.

 

You will develop and manage a high quality and flexible customer service for Special Collections whilst ensuring the effective and efficient management and maintenance of the JRL for customers and staff. This will involve managing the Reader Service together with JRL Reception and the grade 1 listed building.

 

You will have a degree, a professional qualification in librarianship or archive management or sufficient relevant experience at a comparable level.  Experience of staff management, delivery of customer service and an understanding of the needs of visitors to cultural attractions is an essential requirement of this position.
