Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our small team of core staff. The position of Heritage Officer is key to many aspects of the Trust’s work and involves both working alone and collaboratively with the Trust’s Manager/Archaeologist, and Architect.
Key areas of responsibility include:
• Management of the Trust’s Historic Environment Record (HER)
• The supervised provision of a planning archaeology service for the Perth and Kinross area in line with Scottish Planning Policy and Planning Advice Note 42
• The provision of information and advice to members of the public and for agri-environment scheme applicants
• Assisting the Manager/Archaeologist and Architect with outreach and education projects
The Trust welcomes applications from candidates with an appropriate degree and relevant experience, who can demonstrate a sound understanding of both Scottish archaeology and building conservation principles. Familiarity with the Perth and Kinross area would be an advantage and while the post will be based in Perth, it will involve travel throughout the area. Membership of the Institute for Archaeologists (IfA) or membership or Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) is desirable.
