The Minister for
Culture and External Affairs appeared before the Education Lifelong Learning and
Culture Committee on the 19th January to give evidence on the Public Records
(Scotland) Bill. This session concluded the Committee's oral evidence sessions,
which saw appearances from the Scottish Information Commissioner, the Scottish
Council on Archives, the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities, the Society
of Local Authority Chief Executives, Barnardo's Scotland, the Scottish Council
for Voluntary Organisations, In-Care Survivors Service Scotland and Tom
Shaw, chair of the Historic Abuse Systemic Review.

The Committee will
consider a draft of its Stage 1 report in private at its next meeting on 26
January, and hopes to publish the Report on 4 February.
