We have GOLA distributed across all of our student PCs at both of our sites and do not have a problem with it - it appears to work well but then our IT support is excellent.  We take great care to ensure that our invigilators know when an upgrade takes place and that it is properly installed on the PCs before the students are set loose.

 

However, we have suffered from the booking bug (mentioned previously - sorry!) that allows you to schedule exams but then rejects the booking without flagging it up - presumably Angela's issue.  We get round this by taking care to book exams at least an hour apart and then double checking the booking requests.

If you are using C & G for GOLA Functional Skills, please can you let me know what facilities you have set up at your college to accommodate.  We currently have GOLA loaded in our main testing rooms, and also dedicated functional skills classrooms, however our Functional Skills Co-ordinators have requested GOLA software in all classrooms, as quite often the functional skills teaching is embedded in their main programme, and therefore learners are taught in multiple classrooms. This is proving a logistical nightmare for our IT team.

 

If you can let me know the set up at your college, then at least we can put some weight behind the argument that it is not practical to load the software in virtually all classrooms.
