Subject: Invitation to webinar "Literacy Management" on November 4

Dear EATAW colleagues,

With apologies for multiple postings, please accept this invitation to an "eduhub webinar" (free of charge). Gerd Bräuer will present the topic "Literacy Management" on November 4th, 2010, between 11 A.M. and 12 noon.

The webinar will introduce you to literacy management, an emerging professional field at the intersection of research on writing and reading, instructional design, institutional development, and the coaching of readers and writers.

Illustrated with first-hand experiences of the presenter and some of his international colleagues, Gerd Bräuer will demonstrate in concrete terms what it means to manage literacy in today's higher education. He will speak about the specific competences needed in order to develop a different culture of academic literacy through WAC/WID writing programs, writing centers, peer tutoring, campus-wide portfolio systems (etc.).

The webinar will take place on November 4th, 2010, at 11.00-12.00 am, online with SWITCHpoint Adobe Connect.

Please visit this page to find out more details and to register for the
event:
