RESEARCH ASSOCIATE DEVICES FOR DIGNITY (D4D)
£30,460 - £40,157 per annum (AfC band 7)
37.5 hours per week – Fixed Term Contract for 2 years
NB: New starters to the NHS or those with over 12 months break in service at the date of appointment will commence on the minimum of the payscale
An experienced research scientist is required to join the Barnsley-based Assistive Technology (AT) Theme of the Devices for Dignity NIHR Healthcare Technology Co-operative. The co-operative is a national consortium of five NHS Trusts (including Barnsley Hospital) and 3 Universities hosted by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. D4D focuses on the identification of unmet patient needs and the design, development and evaluation of devices to address these needs. Operating nationally, D4D brings together the ‘right project team’ of expert clinicians, academics, patients, carers and industry to deliver solutions to address the specific needs identified. The Assistive Technology theme develops and evaluates AT solutions to improve the independence and dignity of disabled and older people.
You will have a first degree or equivalent and Master’s level degree or equivalent professional qualification together with two years’ experience of research in a health related area and experience of working with medical devices/assistive technology.
It is essential that you possess highly developed written and oral communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work well in a multidisciplinary environment.
