Read the Past: Write the Future – presentations now available

During autumn 2010 a series of half-day training events brought together museum, archive and library staff, education experts, publishers, authors and others to explore the ways in which literature-based activities can be used to engage children and young people with collections. Speakers from museums, archives, library services and elsewhere outlined a number of exciting and innovative projects that are successfully reaching out to hard to reach groups across the country and engaging different age groups in exploring culture through literacy.

These speakers have generously made their presentations available to everyone in the sector who is looking to:
· develop their knowledge of different aspects of using literature in their work with children and young people
· explore how this can reflect national emphases (e.g. on early years education, family learning and working with young adults) and local agendas
· learn about new developments within the sector and in related areas
· increase their confidence in using ICT to enhance their learning experience and their offer to young people
