Contract Data Analyst
12 month contract
Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA - office based


You will conduct observational database studies to support R&D projects at various stages of drug development and life-cycle management. These include specific epidemiology, health outcomes and other observational studies to better understand disease natural history, incidence/prevalence, co-morbidities, treatment patterns, and health and safety outcomes in 'real world' populations.

Activities

*       Collaborate with epidemiologists and safety physicians to provide statistical programming, systems analysis and database management support for observational studies/projects using internal observational database resources.  Ensure research project is delivered on time, to protocol specifications and high quality standards.
*       Analyze, design, develop, test, implement, validate, document, and maintain effective and efficient computer solutions, tools, and database systems for conducting, analyzing and reporting observational database studies.
*       Contribute to development and maintenance of standards for program development and validation, and for data storage, quality, and reporting.
*       Provide technical user/project support and consulting services on programming and database support activities/issues.
*       Assist in database evaluation and selection activities as needed.

Pre-requisites

Bachelor's degree in statistics or other quantitative/health-related discipline.
Masters degree in epidemiology, biostatistics or other quantitative/health-related discipline preferred.

Demonstrated experience in observational research study analysis including specific experience in:
o       (i) managing, analyzing, and reporting observational data
o       (ii) working knowledge of relevant national healthcare systems
o       (iii) SAS Base, SAS/STAT, SAS/GRAPH, SQL and macro programming specifically with large observational databases
o       (iv) diagnostic, procedure, and pharmaceutical coding systems
o       (v) Unix operating systems;
o       (vi) statistical programming skills for epidemiologic analyses (i.e. logistic regression).
