UNIVERSITY LECTURER IN STATISTICS          

 

The Department of Statistics proposes to appoint a University Lecturer in Statistics to take up this post from 1st September 2011, or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will be offered a Tutorship and Official Fellowship at Lady Margaret Hall, under arrangements described in the further particulars. The combined University and College salary will be on a scale up to £57,201 per annum; in addition a college housing allowance of £6,826 may be payable, as well as other benefits.

The successful candidate will have research interests that will augment, complement or build upon those of current members of the department, will have a PhD or equivalent degree in Statistics or related discipline, and a strong, relevant research record published in leading journals, as well as the potential to attract appropriate research funding. The appointee will also be expected to have the ability to teach effectively over a wide range of topics in the undergraduate syllabus of the Mathematics and Statistics degrees at Oxford, the MSc programme in Applied Statistics, provide relevant supervision of graduate students, and to carry out relevant duties of a College Tutor and Fellow.
